(Leeuwarden, The Netherlands--September 3, 2009) The added feature list of the new 1080dots DS Player+, that will be released at the upcoming IBC, is now made public. Also an updated version of the ‘stand-alone’ Player will be released at the IBC, the new functions of both players are:
1080dots DS Player+ 1.2 (New application)
The plus version contains network-specific functionality. It is possible to control and manage this player remotely over the internet using XML commands. This version regularly checks if new playlist and content is available at a specific given internet address. You can control the 1080dots DS Player+ from anywhere in the world.
XML open Digital Signage player
1080dots DS Player+ is an XML open application, which means that any Content Management System or any application that can generate and host XML code on the internet can control many DS Player+ systems.
Extra host feature
Another feature is running one DS Player+ as a host (server) for other 1080dots DS Player+ systems. This host feature can be used for local (LAN) networks, where it is necessary to control multiple Digital Signage players, without the need for a specific extra online Content Management System.

Revolutionary Digital Signage software from 1080DOTS. This software will go for only a few hundred bucks and bring full HD video playout from a playlist. Photoshop files with layers can be imported in one move, and all layers are placed at exactly their positions with perfect antialiased keying. Tickers can be added, and you can use RSS feeds to control them. Perhaps the best feature of the software is its capability to use Blackmagic Design hardware to do the video and audio output, making it possible to implement it in broadcast and narrowcast environments. You even can use it to key graphics over live video, making it a very flexible logo inserter, titler or sports graphics inserter.
In the very near future it will be possible to remotely control DS Player. You will be able to upload and update both playlist and content using a simple internet connection.
